Assassin's Creed 2: new teaser site, details coming

First off, there's an Assassin's Creed 2 teaser site and video up now. ANIMUS, the page is titled. Go watch that first.
Okay, so there's no game play images or footage. Sorry. Just mysterious imagery. What do you all make of the morphing Leonardo Da Vinci-type sketch drawings? Looks Italian, at least, I think it has some ties to our earlier rumors we ran about a Venice setting for the game, don't you? Wings and concealed arm weapons? Interesting.
Also, as far as the teaser page goes, click that "A" thing on the side -- it brings up a webcam interface for you to play around with. Fun. Unfortunately, that's about all you get for now.
Want more? I think there's a pretty good chance of Assassin's Creed 2 being the cover story for the next issue of Game Informer. We'll get the lowdown in about ten days.

- New enemy types with unique attitudes and weaknesses are present in the game. Archers are mentioned, as well as elite enemies, dagger wielders, "Brutish" armored troops with heavy armor and 2 handed swords and axes, and an intelligent halberd enemy will probe hiding places with their weapons if they think you're near by.
- While hiding in a hay bail you can assassinate people this time, but it may expose your position.
- You can still climb towers and ride horses
- The Lorendo de Medici assassination attempt is in the game.
- There is now a night and day sequence in the game.
- 240 people are working on this title.

You are looking at the main character of Assassin's Creed 2. According to our tipster, this image was discovered on the official Ubisoft forums before it was taken down. The high-resolution render is definitely authentic, and the character possesses more than a little resemblance to Altair from the first game. Looks like gray hoodies are always in fashion, regardless of the era.

Other rumored details have supposedly been leaked in early copies of the next Game Informer. ScrewAttack says the main character is Ezio Auditore de Firenze, a nobleman of Florence from 1476. Ezio is yet another genetic predecessor of Desmond's (y'know, the annoying guy that doesn't kill people?). You'll supposedly be able to swim and access a gliding machine at DaVinci's workshop. And most excitingly of all, you'll play through more mission types. Word of that alone makes us eagerly anticipate our next issue of GI.
