GPU-ul din placile noastre grafice este specializat pentru paralelism, un avantaj major in acest caz fata de CPU. Astfel, folosind un GF8800 Ultra viteza de crackuire poate fi de 25 de ori mai mare decat daca este folosit CPU-ul singur. Aceleasi teste le-au facut si pe placi mai slabe, de pana in 150$:
